I guess that's slightly better than a bullet to the face...

Can't wait to see what Doc has up his sleeves. I thought the first boss in a boss run was supposed to be the easiest!

1. That sword should've exploded the bomb.
2. Quick Patrick mime several tourniquets, sterilizing agents and stitches like your life depends on it!

Depending on the explosive, they're surprisingly stable. Hitting it, slicing it, shooting it, and the explosive can still be intact. C4, for example, requires both a compressive force along with high heat to explode.

The bomb is probably already gone, however, crumbled away due to Donald's insecurity. Same as the traps.

Probably mime C4, doesn't explode unless you use the mime trigger.

What if Doc dies?

I mean, he might not. He's survived worse, kinda. But it looks like that sword may have went straight through his heart. There is blood coming out his back. And, you know, with the Ghost Wizard's curse and all, this may really be it. That could be the twist. Boss rush over. Donald kills Doc. Permanently dead. Like the rest of us schmucks'll be some day. Only with mime magic instead of something boring like heart disease.

Maybe the twist is that Old isn't really evil and may have to save Doc's family. I still have a hard time buying that Old is a villain.

I've been convinced for a while that Doc isn't going to survive the end of the comic, but I don't think this is it. Too ignominious. I suspect this is just the first in a laundry list of damn-near-fatal injuries he's about to to acquire.

Oh, I didn't notice the blood.

Then again, Doc has spent time with Bruce Lee. And he's a doctor. He knows science.

Ignominious or not, there's a logic to it. None of the enemies leading up to Radical would feel like a real threat unless it's possible for them to succeed.

Well, it sure looks like it went through his heart in that panel.

If it's true, pretty much none of us saw it coming.

Table for one?

Doc has a knack for ignoring fatal injuries. He's done it once before, when bullets 'missed' all his vital arteries and organs.
