April 2013 discussion thread

Remember when your parents told you your dog got sent to a farm? This is that farm, except it's full of old monthly discussion threads.

Well at least we've got our own portal to his universes. It even updates three times a week, usually.

It always starts the same way. I am in the garden airing my terrapin Jetta when he walks past my gate, that mysterious man in black and white.
'Hello Doctor,' I say. 'What are you doing in Dusseldorf?'

I'm thinking Old might help out Doc now he knows Rad is nine cans of beer short of a ten pack. Old's eyebrows are looking concerned even if he's playing along.

Yes. Also, is Hortense exposing more cleavage as the pages progress? Methinks her outfit is responding to her dialogue.

Others probably realize it but:

I think the "dull" universe that :kingrad is referring to is our own.

Funny... I had been complaining earlier about how King Radical seemed to be kind of unnecessarily muscling in on what was already a pretty rad universe on its own, and that we didn't need people coming from a Radical universe to explain how the raptor banditos and robot Draculas got here. But I guess... Yeah.

I think it is more due to the fact Doc's guess that they are together is right, and he felt a bit jealous after Hortense's comment, but doesn't want to show it because he thinks it is pretty silly to feel jealous for something so small.

He is right though, we should feel shame instead.

Oh!

Oh oh oh!

Oooooooooooh!

It all makes sense now. The whole King Radical plot is a breech of the fourth wall; a rib on the universes geeks crave to satisfy their personal dreams that their world was more radical than their own, yet still similar enough to reality to feel like it could be their own. It's a parody of the whole rationale behind the things like the Marvel Universe, where both New York City and wild super heroes and space Gods can exist.

Very crafty. Kudos to you Hastings. I really like this.
