Not sure where else to put this, and I abhor making unnecessary threads, so I'm plunking this right here. Don't mind the double post, that last one was over a month ago, so if anything, I'm closer to necromancy than postspamming.
Today, I've been working on a board game all afternoon with some friends. As in; Actually making the board game, rules and everything. It's called Manifest Destiny, and is a Risk/Axis&Allies-style strategy game following nine civilisations as they attempt to become the most powerful civilisation in the Americas.
The civilisations are Russia, France, Britain, the United States/American/Free British (The name's still in flux as yet), the Dutch, The Inca, the Spanish, the Portuguese and the Cherokee. Each group starts with a few territories in the Americas, surrounded by natives, and must carve for themselves an empire capable of standing up against the other eight powers in the two continents.
At the moment, we're still playtesting, and it really is early days. But we plan on playing again tonight, and work out better starting positions, unit costs, etc.
