No, this is the error and fix page for what I ran into. I actually saw that page while searching, though, and am considering trying it anyway, seeing as nothing else has worked at all.

EDIT: I've actually managed to boot my OS properly, though I don't know how. I just kept trying the same things over and over again, hoping I just missed something, and that it would work eventually. It did, so now I'm uninstalling every single language pack I have installed. It's about halfway done, and it's been running for two hours. :|

EDIT 2: Computer fixed, up and running again. Without Service Pack 1, since even after I managed to restore my computer and remove the offensive language packs, it refuses to install. Lame.

Yup, that qualifies. Thoughts are with them, and all that :(

Apparently they don't remember that we bombed the crap out of Japan, and they also don't understand offshore earthquakes.

My mom and stepdad were in a motorcycle accident yesterday. Thankfully both were able to walk away, but they had a lot of cuts and scrapes. I took them to the ER and we were there for almost 12 hours straight. I only got home a short while ago. Considering how badly trashed the bike and all their stuff is, it really is a miracle they are as relatively un-hurt as they are.

EDIT: Actually maybe it's a happy thing they are okay. It still sucks they were hurt and had to spend 12 hours at the hospital, though.

Well, it was nice to read a post in this thread with a happy ending. I'm glad they're both ok.

My little sister almost went to juvenile hall tonight. She's been in a slow downward spiral for a while, but last night was the last straw for my parents. She stayed out all night, came home under the influence of alcohol and other drugs, and got into a drag-out fight with my parents. My dad was ready to send her to juvie, but after the sheriffs showed up, my mom was willing to have them talk to her and make clear this was her last chance, and if they had to come back, it really would be juvie for her.

I love my sister dearly, and it breaks my heart to see her like this. My older brother went through the same thing, and it tore our family apart for years. I had really hoped he would make an example of what not to do in life, but it seems she didn't get the hint.

that sucks, bro =/

when i went into my sister's closet to get my typewriter case, i found that she'd been stashing a couple pot pipes in it. i took them. dunno if she's found out yet. if she has, she's not acknowledging anything to me. but she's my favorite in the family and it bugs me that she's such an idiot. no police have been involved but idk i kind of know what you're at

Thanks, ladies. (I was going to say 'guys' but realized that might be sexist. ;) )

Since that night she's been super withdrawn. I don't know if she's actually thinking about what happened, or just biding her time until she thinks she can get away with it again. I'm hoping it's the former, but the latter seems more likely. :(

Jenny - have you told anyone about what you found? If not, you might want to confront her first, and try to explain how bad of a road that can lead down. Just be cautious.
