Korea is like the skinny guy in prison who acts crazy just to scare people, and you want to call his bluff. But you don't, just in case.

You know that he's in jail for hacking, but you don't know what kind of hacking he did to get there.

And you're fairly sure you could take him in a fight. But then again, maybe he has a shiv. Doesn't even need to be a good shiv. Just a blade that he can slip between your ribs, or into your gut while you try to knock him out.

Shouldn't this have been posted in the terrifying things section? North Korea supposedly has nukes, and whether it's a bluff or not, the fact that they just might be telling the truth terrifies me. I still think we ought to invade them and be done with it, just to end this whole nonsense right now, but I know I'm also in the minority. It just seems dangerous and irresponsible to allow a country like that to continue to exist.

You say it's like the crazy guy in prison; I say it's like a rabid dog that needs to be put down.

Well, there is that. The main problem with that is that if you invade a country, what then? you've got to rebuild that country, preferably in a manner that won't lead to them hating you. And wars are expensive.
Fun fact, the Korean War never properly ended. It ended in a ceasefire, which holds true today. At least, that's what it is right now.

See, I know we've done this to death but that's pretty much how I picture the crazy guy - snapping at anyone who comes too close. I question whether he has the follow-through, but I don't want to test it because even if he tries and fails it could be nasty for someone.

I meant a Formal Ceasefire, which does not mean the same thing as a real ceasefire.

Invasion, while it would certainly topple the regime, would result in Seoul being destroyed. North Korea has all sorts of artillery left over from WWII and the Cold War; it's not very advanced, but they have a lot of it.
